I had to come and give my girl Chef Valencia her flowers because WAT’S THE PLATTER is the real deal! 🇯🇲❤️ On October 1st, opening day for Chef Valencia’s new kiosk at 335 Yonge St., World’s Food Market, I went to support her, check out the new spot, and see what she was bringing to the table. And let me tell you, between the food, the atmosphere, and Valencia herself, it was just a really nice experience. The food was GOOD! 😩😂 I’m not even exaggerating. Everything I tasted was delicious and full of flavour. You can taste the Jamaican in it. And what I really appreciated was that every part of the meal could stand on its own. Listen, I was eating the rice and peas by itself! 😂 I didn’t even need the meat with it. The rice and peas had flavour on its own, and then when you put the protein with it, everything just comes together so nicely. It’s like your palate just wakes up! And that’s the thing about her food—you can taste the creativity in it. You can taste that she actually enjoys what she’s doing. Her personality is in her food. Valencia is such a vibrant, warm, loving person, and somehow that comes through in what she prepares. And that smile of hers? Yeah… you get that too! 😂❤️ I even brought food home, because obviously I wasn’t done! 😂 I really enjoyed my experience at WAT’S THE PLATTER, and I’m genuinely happy to see Valencia step out and do this. She has a gift, she’s creative, and she’s not afraid to try something different. So, if you’re downtown Toronto and looking for some authentic Jamaican food with flavour, personality, and a little something extra, go check out WAT’S THE PLATTER. Chef Valencia, congratulations again! ❤️🇯🇲 Keep doing what you’re doing, girl. Your hands are blessed! 🙏🏽 One Love 🇯🇲❤️Posted on Google![]()

Lovely owner and amazing food. I had the jerk chicken and it was great. Rice and peas very authentic. Also tried the wings, great too! The festival in the shape of fries was very unique. Would definitely return and try more thingsPosted on Google![]()
